Reporting to the Head of System Design, the Software Process Engineer is responsible for the delivery of system changes for our in-house built computer applications.

Key responsibilities and accountability
• Contribute to the predictable delivery of systems changes
• Review functional specifications for system design changes
• Approve items for development
• Prioritise development items to meet customer expectations and targets for strategic development
• Produce and continually refine estimates for completion dates and development items
• Track the progress of development items through design, coding, testing and deployment stages
• Escalate development items that have stalled or will not meet agreed delivery timescales
• Identify development resourcing requirements
• Produce weekly and monthly reports on deployed and in-progress development
• Analyse the software development lifecycle and identify areas for improvement

Skills and Experience

• 5-10 years previous experience (including 3 years’ in coding)
• Previous development experience
• Project management experience, including software delivery lifecycle
• Experience of managing projects with multiple iterations
• Good understanding of different project methodologies including scrum and agile
• A background in aviation or aircraft maintenance would be advantageous
