A day in the life of… Luis Mur

Luis is General Manager for Records. Prior to flydocs his background included working for leading retailers such as Tesco, with responsibility for adopting quality control processes.

Originally from Madrid, Luis speaks 4 languages fluently – he is currently well on his way to cracking Mandarin Chinese too! This ability to communicate in different languages is a big help in Luis’ role helping our clients to adopt new work processes and quality control systems when flydocs is introduced all across the world. He spends most of his time on site with clients and is currently in Australia working on a project for Qantas.

Over to Luis then, as he talks us through a day in his life at flydocs (in English)..!

7:15 am – Morning Run: Healthy body, healthy mind. I slot in a 45-minute run around beautiful Sydney to prepare for the busy day ahead.
8:00 am – Arrival: After a shower and breakfast, I arrive at the Qantas office.
8:30 am – Coffee & Collaboration: Meet with the technical team to discuss their adoption of flydocs systems and processes.
10:00 am – Problem Solving: Ironing out issues with the team; I spend the next three hours adapting processes to suit Qantas’s specific ways of working.
1:00 pm – Global Support: Answer emails from LAN Airlines in Chile. While they sleep, I provide overnight progress. I also book my upcoming flights to Chile to help introduce flydocs there.
1:45 pm – Lunch & Learning: Grab a bite and spend 30 minutes on a Mandarin test. I did okay, but there’s still work to do.
2:15 pm – Technical Guidance: Back with the Qantas team to provide advice on best practices and process management.
3:30 pm – Management Prep: Using today’s insights to prepare a debrief for Qantas senior management.
4:30 pm – Compliance Check: Catch up with the Qantas compliance manager. The meeting goes well, barring a few minor workflow details.
6:00 pm – Evening Social: Wrapping up for the day and heading to the Sydney waterfront for a meal with the Qantas team.
10:00 pm – International Sync: A Skype call with LAN Airlines in Chile to discuss project points, family, and football.
10:30 pm – Wind Down: More Mandarin tuition followed by some sport on TV. Football or basketball are my go-tos—I still can’t quite get into cricket!
11:30 pm – Lights Out: Another rewarding day. It’s great to see the team successfully adopting the flydocs way.
