The company was initially founded in 2007 but it took us a few years exploring several markets and for technology to advance before FLYdocs was born. 

Having worked with Thomson Airways on a small technical project in late 2009, we realised that there was no one in the market providing any advanced platform covering online records and data management for aircraft trading. Only a couple of other solutions were available in the marketplace and both were limited by functionality and design.

We had the seed for an idea that would transform the way aircraft were traded.  So we set to work to build a highly advanced, cloud based, digital transaction-oriented records, data and aircraft trading product that had all of the supporting back office infrastructure to help people get there.

The product and platform had to be advanced, unique and ground-breaking in order to take the market ahead of established lower quality alternatives.

We didn’t rush. 

Instead we spent two years  developing FLYdocs’ core functionality.  Word-of-mouth saw us land our first, and still hugely valued, customer – Virgin Atlantic in 2011. Further positive word-of-mouth led to both Cathay Pacific and ILFC coming on board in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Our first sales activity started in earnest in early 2013. The world, on the whole, did not know FLYdocs existed at that time, so naturally it took some time to generate awareness in the market. After almost 2 years knocking on doors we started to see major traction, and in 2014 began to sign deals with key international players in a trend that has continued and accelerated – in fact, since then things have just snowballed. 

In April 2015 Growth Capital Partners came on board with the belief, support and investment in the business to help us realise our global ambitions. This enabled us to scale the business by investing in our facilities and make a number of new key management appointments.

Shortly after this we were approached by Lufthansa Technik AG who shared our vision to digitally advance the aviation industry. In June 2016 we entered into a strategic global partnership to do this together.

FLYdocs today has over 50 international customers, offices in 10 countries, 300+ employees and the world’s most advanced aviation document and records management platform.

This is just the beginning of an amazing journey.
